Monty Python and the Holy Grail
March 19th, 2010|
IMDB rating: 8.50 Plot: The movie starts out with Arthur, King of the Britons, looking for knights to sit with him at Camelot. He finds many knights including Sir Galahad the pure, Sir Lancelot the brave, the quiet Sir Bedevere, and Sir Robin the Not-Quite-So-Brave-as-Sir Lancelot. They do not travel on horses, but pretend they do and have their servants bang coconuts to make the sound of horse’s hooves. Through satire of certain events in history (witch trials, the black plague) they find Camelot, but after literally a quick song and dance they decide that they do not want to go there. While walking away, God (who seems to be grumpy) come to them from a cloud and tells them to find the Holy Grail. They agree and begin their search… |

movies set in Europe 800-1800?
I’m taking European History and one of the assignments later in the semester is to write a paper about a movie set in Europe from 800-1800. The teacher gave us a list of recommendations, but I was wondering if there are any besides these? I haven’t seen any of these, so if one of the movies listed is really good and I should choose that one, say that.
Beowulf
The 13th Warrior
In the Name of the Rose
Kingdom of Heaven
Braveheart
Alexander Nevsky
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
1492
Shakespeare in Love
Elizabeth
The Agony and the Ecstasy
The Last Valley
The Madness of King George
Amadeus
Marie Antoinette
I know a great one, based on true events: The Brotherhood of the Wolf. Frickin’ awesome. Action, large monster like creature, intrigue, clandestine groups. Its a french movie, and came out about 6 or 7 years ago. Eric Dacascus is in it.
