if you had a lhasa apso?
would you
a) shave it completly, easy option no brushing and constant washing can run around and have fun
http://www.aboutyourdog.net/images/breed -photos/Lhasa-apso.jpg
b) slightly long, can still have a good time but needs a bit of brushing each day and a bath twice a week

or c) long like the magic roundabout dog, looks amazing but takes ALOT of time and attention and cant really run about jumping in streams ect.

i have mine shaved but not sure wheter to grow her.
I have a Lhasa and keep her hair as in B. I ask for a puppy cut.

B. I would want the lhasa to look like a lhasa and to me, B would be the perfect "pet" cut (rather than a show cut).

I like A the best; you can see their face, less maintenance, and looks like they will have more ability to play.

I have a lhasa as well as my dobergirl… and I keep him slightly long… he is SO soft and cuddly tht way.

i would choose choice B

I would probably go B, I prefer some sort of style rather than all of.

my friend has 2 lhasa;s in full coat, let me tell you that can run around and do everything the same as a shaved dog can. and here is the proof

Also she says it doesnt take her much work to keep the coat as she knows what she is doing and keeps on top of it. Her 2 never have a knot in there coat. but its is harder in winter. she ties up the hair fron his face.
Also paareantly long coated dogs take longer to get hot as it insulates them form both the cold and the heat.

At the end of the day it is up to you what u do, it sould bepend on if you feel you can manage it or not.

1=you couldn’t pay me enough to board a Lhasa. In 40 some years of dealing w/ thousands od dogs,I’ve met ONE nice one.
#2= WHY buy a bred-for-centuries to HAVE a coat breed & then BUTCHER it?

When I was growing up, we always had our Lhasa’s coat somewhere in between A and B. He got a bath once a month and brushed every other day or so (because he loved it). When he got shaggy looking, my mom and I cut his hair with scissors. I can’t believe we did that and he looked decent, but he did.

My lhasa’s are in full coat as i show them there not as much work as you would think as long as you have the right grooming tools and understand how to groom a lhasa in full coat and keep o top of it.
I brush my lhasa 1 to 2 days a week 1 being a thura brush through layer by layer with a 1 to 10 part oil based spry, leave in conditioner to water and brush through with a wide antistatic comb and a pin brush.
Its up too you and depends on your life style, you could always try and put him/her in full coat is it doesn’t work out then clip them off.
